WHAT DOES LANDMARK CREDIT UNION DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

How does Landmark Credit Union protect my personal information? 

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does Landmark Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or apply for a loan
  • seek financial or tax advance or give us your income information
  • tell us about your investment or retirement earnings

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes - Information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

 

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Landmark Credit Union has no affiliates.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Landmark Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies, credit card companies and investment companies

INFORMATION COLLECTED

Landmark Credit Union has partnered with Ellie Mae to provide you with online application capabilities for mortgage loans. Ellie Mae, as Landmark’s service provider (“Service Provider”) collects certain information through the use of “cookies” and other tracking technologies in the course of providing services to Landmark that assist you in the loan origination process.

Cookies are small files that your browser places on your computer. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. Service Provider also uses cookies as part of this mortgage loan application website (“Website”) to make our services work and to provide a secure process. In this process, a username and/or IP address may be collected and/or stored in the Service Provider’s systems. You can instruct your browser to stop accepting cookies or disable cookies altogether by adjusting the settings in your browser. However, if you choose to disable some or all cookies, parts of or all the services may no longer work.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

Service Provider uses the information collected on the Website in a variety of ways, including the following:

To Provide Services. Service Provider uses the information collected (i) to operate, maintain, enhance and provide the Website and services, (ii) to provide other services and information that Landmark may request from the Service Provider, and (iii) for Service Provider to provide customer support to Landmark in operating the Website.

To Improve, Analyze, and Personalize the Website and Services. Service Provider uses the information collected to understand and analyze usage trends and preferences; to monitor and analyze the effectiveness of the Website and the services; to improve the Website and the services and develop new products, services, features, and functionality; and to personalize the Website, such as remembering your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you use it, or providing customized content and information.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

Service Provider does not share, transfer, or disclose cookie data, except in the following circumstances:

(i) to provide it to Landmark, (ii) in the event that Service Provider believes that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, iii) disclosure is necessary to protect the security or integrity of the Website, iv) disclosure is necessary to protect from harmful or illegal activities through the Website, or v) disclosure is necessary to investigate and as a defense for the Service Provider against any third-party claims or allegations.

The information collected may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of the Service provider’s business assets.
